Charles Muntz- the name. There are no coincidences in Disney movies, and there are always hidden references. In real life, Charles Mintz was the animation producer who “stole” Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, which forced Walt Disney to create Mickey Mouse. In "Up", Muntz is trying to capture an elusive “cartoon-like” bird, and while creating a way to make animals “talk”. Director Pete Docter compared Muntz to a mix of Charles Lindbergh and Howard Hughes.
